Low level detection of contaminants that meet or exceed regulatory specifications which includes:

 

  • Pesticides, herbicides or insecticides

  • Fumigants or their by products like Ethylene Chlorohydrin in spices

Food residue testing

Detection of uncommon chemical residues using emerging analytical techniques, for example:

 
  • Antibiotics

  • Contaminant or unwanted dyes including sudan dyes in chilli products

  • Organo metals such as Methyl Mercury in fish

Food residue testing

Testing for contaminants in a diverse and/or difficult matrices including, for example:

 
  • Vegetable and fish oils

  • Honey or seafoods

With our extensive experience in analytical testing, we can develop and accredit new methods for the difficult analyses to suit your specific needs

 

Our instrumentation and testing capabilities include:

  • LC/MS/MS for low level detection of non-volatiles, for example detection of herbicides including glyphosate & 2,4-DB, or antibiotics such as chloramphenicol & nitrofurans in seafood or honey

  • High Performance Large Volume Injection GC/MS for very low level detection of an extensive range of pesticides & herbicides to meet international MRL guideline values

  • Headspace GC/MS for volatile organic residues such as the dithiocarbamates and other difficult analytes

  • ICP-AES and CVAAS for routine trace element analyses in food matrices for example cadmium or mercury in nuts, or more challenging analyses such as selenium in potatoes
